A railway arch on a Forest Gate backstreet may seem like an unlikely setting for a play café, but The Can Club has been a real hit with local parents since opening its doors at the back end of 2022. Set up by three experienced primary school teachers, it’s a fantastic space full of toys, books, soft play equipment and craft activities, designed to fuel your little ones’ creativity and imagination. It feels more like a cosy living room than a conventional café, and there are comfy sofas, great coffee and a food menu that includes tempting toasties and some great little grazing plates for toddlers. The space is available to book for parties, and they also offer a range of drop-off clubs, courses, holiday clubs and small group tutoring for school-age children. As you would expect, there are plenty of highchairs and a well-equipped unisex baby changing area.
